Rent a bike and ride from the Santa Monica pier to Marina Del Rey. The beach bike paths are great-the ocean on one side of you and stuck in the 60's Venice freaks on the other side. I like the bike as a way of seeing the Venice stuff so if someone is too freaky you can jump on your bike and speed away.

Allan says, The Grove- It is like the mall, but outside with a big fountain. It is close to the Farmers Market. The great thing about The Grove is it is behind the CBS Studios. You get to see all of the crazies who line up to go see the Price is Right with all their gear, etc. Then when CBS studios let them out, they flood the Market. With all of these out of town tourists and neighborhood people, you end up with an interesting mix of background and cultures. It's very generic shopping, Disneyland meticulously fake, but there is something exciting and fun about it. Hours: Mon. - Thurs.: 10 am - 9 pm
Fri. - Sat.: 10 am - 10 pm
Sun.: 11 am - 8 pm

Everyone who lives in the hills goes there because you don't have to drive a long time. You can see all of L.A. and the valley. There are lots of gays and celebrities.
