Barkerville is famous for being the largest city north of San Francisco during the gold rush days when many people migrated north to see seek their fortune. It has been wonderfully preserved and features re-enactments and historical tours, a live theatre, restaurants, a period hotel and shops.-says featured artist Linda McRae.
