The Kitchen
|
|
For three decades, the non-profit Kitchen has dedicated itself to up and coming, and little known artists, in mixed media. Founded in 1971 by Victor and Steinka Vasulka, it was an unused space for like-minded artists to come together and share. One of the first to nurture and embrace video and performing arts, the Kitchen is devoted, still, to visionary avante-garde performance works, in video, dance, music, film, literature, and performance. Along with lectures and talks, exhibitions, and family programs, theatre, the Kitchen has given us some of the most exciting performers, to date. Box office opens one hour before showtime. Prices range from $8 to $25.
